Pinch Me

Alley Art Studio is moving. Into it's own space. And it's even on an alley. Since I made a little mention of an impending announcement to my Artist's Way group, I have had several friends inquire as to what was going on. The news is this: one of the rentals we own is a one-bedroom home in SE Salem. It is in a well-established neighborhood across the street from a park (and right behind where Destree lives!!). Howard had suggested I turn the rental into my studio a few months back, but I wasn't ready to take the plunge. But after my recent spate of artful activities, I'm feeling the need for a bigger space. I haven't been inside the house for several years, but I know it has a bedroom, a living room, and a large airy kitchen. It also has a nice little storage room attached to the side of the house (think SHELVES!). I drove by the other day and snapped a photo - mind you, the tenant is still living there so things are gonna look mighty different once I get my hands on the place. I am beside myself with giddiness. The transformation of the home into Alley Art Studio will begin in mid July. I haven't decided whether I'll prepare the studio as a place that I can hold classes and The Artist's Way, but I'm leaning in that direction. I would make the kitchen area the place for making art and leave the living room as a place to gather in a circle (think PILLOWS). The bedroom? Most likely filled with shelves to house a lot of my stuff (think ORGANIZATION). I'll just have to wait until I walk through and let the house tell me what it wants . . . here is an advance peek of the new Alley Art Studio!

Gerri, great minds do think alike! I was thinking about hosting a painting party - anyone who helped would be invited to a special class at the new studio FOR FREE as a thank you and to break the art space in. I have lots of thoughts twirling in my head, so stay tuned.

Yayyyyyyyyy !!! Your own huge studio !!!! I see an open house in the future !!

Love your mini canvases, too, especially the Madonna. I am a nut for those icons. Great color schemes, on all. You are the queen of color.

Art Buddy will have my attention this weekend !!! Everyone is so creative with their little guys. This was a great idea.
