Day 20: Final Day on the French Riviera
It's been a good week in Antibes on the French Riviera, but tomorrow is a transition day as we leave in the morning for Paris. We've done a fair amount of sightseeing in this area since arriving last Friday and we've also done our share of relaxing. One day I stayed in my jammies until 1:00 p.m. working and playing in my travel journal.
We've spent two full days and one late afternoon sunning, reading, and swimming in the Mediterranean. The photo at the beginning of this post? That's our swimmin' hole. And then there has been such beautiful beach glass to collect . . .
This morning we got to see artist Ho Liu work on a sculpture of cute Felix (Howard shot a photo of the sculpture through the window).
Antibes has a lovely (and rather large) market on Thursday and we had fun picking up a few gifts (scarves for my girls).
We ended our time in Antibes by heading back to our favorite restaurant, the vegetarian/organic Chez Helen (it was our third time this week!). We were lucky enough to meet Helen's parents, who were visiting from Cambridge, and we spent almost every moment we weren't chewing chatting with them! Here's Helen with a bouquet of squash blossoms that were delivered at 8:00 p.m. (which she battered and deep fried - yum yum!).
My next blog post will be from Paris! Our final week in France begins tomorrow.
