Orange Dream Monkeys: Road Trip

Last night was the regularly scheduled meeting day of my visual journaling group, the Orange Dream Monkeys. Since I'm not in Salem right now, three of the monkeys made the trek to the Portland Waterfront so we could get together on my boat, Rapture. Destree and Dawn (Yoga Dawn), came from down south, and Bobbie, who lives in Tigard, for once didn't have to drive very far. We started by getting some dinner from one of the restaurants on the river walk and bringing our food back to the boat so we could dine on the upper deck (doesn't that sound sooo fancy?).

We hadn't really planned to do much art, and we didn't end of doing any (although I had one small project in mind if we just had to do something with our hands), but we sure had fun looking at each other's visual journals AND we got to look at the journal kept by members of the Portland Art Collective (it's my turn to art up a couple of pages). We ooohed and ahhhed our way through the journal, which dates back to 2004.

Then, I got to do a little show and tell from my latest book acquisition, L.K. Ludwig's Creative Wildfire (which I received in the mail right before we left for Portland).

Before everyone left to return home, they did a little doodling and drawing in my Paper Remnant Journal.

It was a fun, relaxing evening and we all went away feeling inspired and ready to do some art!

this looks like such a wonderful time - art girl friends, a bit of journaling, inspiration, and beauty on the waterfront (your boat is beatufiul!)

i have yet to get my hands on a copy of LK's new book - it does look wonderful - her books are always inspiring and juicy!
