NEW! Create a Vision Board
Saturday, January 9, 2010
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
$35.00 (includes all materials)
Ready, set your intentions, GO! A vision board is a large collage of images and words that reflect who you want to be, goals and dreams you want to come true. By selecting specific images and words that represent your desires, you create a visual representation of the changes you want to occur in your life. We’ll start by doing a Mind Map exercise and then I'll provide piles of magazines, a board to use as your substrate, and gobs of glue. You bring an open and willing spirit. (Bring a salad to share, as we’ll take a break mid-way through the day to recharge our batteries.)
Visual Journaling – A Life Collage
Create a Hand Bound Visual Journal
Saturday, January 23, 2010
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
$50 (includes all supplies)
Stampin’ Cat Studio in Salem
To register, call Stampin' Cat at 503-390-2553
We will spend the day making a beautiful 8 x 10 hand bound journal. You will design and create the covers for your journal from a sheet of luxurious Thai Kozo paper, to which you will apply Adirondack ink using plain and textured brayers, and rubber stamps for added oomph. After designing and preparing the paper, I will walk you through the process of binding your journal, filling it with three signatures of a combination of special papers. Beads and buttons will be added as final embellishments. Your finished journal will have 36 pages, which means you will have 72 pages to make art on! No previous art or bookbinding experience is required. (Bring a sack lunch or walk down to Lifesource and pick up lunch, as we’ll have a 30-minute break during the day to get reenergized.)
Collage Up a Storm UNDERGROUND: Don’t Think, Just Do As You’re Told
Wednesday, February 10, 2010
6:00-9:00 p.m.
$20 (includes all supplies)
You will start with your visual journal or a piece of canvas board and transform it into a personal piece of art. You will be guided through the process of creating a collage using a variety of papers, paints, materials, and embellishments to create a collage full of dimension and interest.
Fanciful Dream Houses
Saturday, February 20, 2010
1:00-4:30 p.m.
$40 (includes all supplies)
Stampin’ Cat Studio in Salem
To register, call Stampin' Cat at 503-390-2553
Fanciful Dream Houses are based on the idea of a nicho, a miniature shrine, traditionally used to contain relics or sacred objects, often used for household altars. For our purposes, we are going to make a fanciful little nicho, using a metal house-shaped box with a glass door, known as a Dream House. On the outside, we will add color using paint or alcohol inks. On the inside, we will add images, words, text, and photographs. There is room in the little house to add 3-D items such as charms or jewels. I will also bring transparencies so we can embellish the little glass door. The Dream Houses are designed to stand up or be hung, so I will bring charms for you to attach to the outside if you choose to hang your Fanciful Dream House. Come play with me!
