A Change in Plans

Well, things can certainly change quickly. A family emergency came up last night, which necessitated me leaving my Pat Wheeler class at OCAC prematurely. It is an emergency of a personal nature and I won't be sharing it here. I ran up to OCAC first thing this morning to pick up all of my art supplies, nearly completed paintings, halfway completed works, and my remaining blank boards. Very sad, but I was able to have a nice chat with Pat, who was so sympathetic and loving that she spontaneously grabbed one of her class demo pieces (which end up hanging in galleries) and signed it over to me with the word COURAGE inscribed on the back. This is her artwork at the top of this post, something I will cherish and serve as a reminder of what it means to be courageous.

Oh Dayna--I'm so sorry you had to leave class early! I could see how much fun you and Steph were having, so I know that must be very disappointing. I hope everything is OK. The generous gift from Pat sure would help ease the pain!
