While out and about on Saturday at an Art Walk in an unnamed Western Washington city, we came upon some graffiti artists at work in an alley. I have such a thing for graffiti, that I couldn't resist snapping some photos (no faces, please).

Isn't it cool where you can suddenly come upon beauty and art? Normally, I might not think that, but your photos really isolate that from the 'chaos.' I'm always intrigued watching a train travel by: where did the graffiti come from; what are they saying? I kind of wish a wall outside my house looked like that!
What is it about street art and graffiti that is so overwhelmingly satisfying? What does it satisfy? The rebellious streak? The childlike inner person? The bold? The colorful? I understand the down side of graffiti, but still .....
I am a woman trying to navigate being 50-something, to not dwell too much on getting older, and reminding myself constantly to live in the moment. I am a woman who loves books, reading, and used bookstores (especially Powell's in downtown Portland). I am a woman who is discovering art after years of raising kids, working, and going to school. I am a woman who loves collage, painting, mixed media, and assemblage. I am a woman who loves gunkholing in junk stores and picking trash up off the street just for the thrill of its possibilities. I am a woman who has a mantra to BE BOLD.
