Delayed Gratification

Right before we left for Italy early last month, Sam Hart, a good friend and the owner of the wonderful little vintage shop Lil' Gypsy, (go take a peek at her website) sent an e-mail telling me she had a pile of goodies for me. Well, with getting ready to leave, I never had a chance to stop by her shop. On our way out of town, we were going right by her store, so we whipped into a parking place, dashed in for a hug, and picked up my waiting goodies. On to the airport we went without a chance to see what kind of surprises she had accumulated for me. When we got home on Friday, we unloaded the car and there AH HA! was the patiently waiting tub of fun. I finally had time yesterday afternoon to dump everything out and sort through what Sam thought I might enjoy. Yikes Almighty! Thanks, Sam - you know me too well!

yep, you wear your colors... meaning folks know what you appreciate and like to play with.

so, i'm wondering if you'll place all the Italy goodies on the floor and take a photo? like a mountain of gifts under the Xmas tree....

and did Oliver recognize you?

Well, Peshe, I've been putting things away for the past couple of days so no hope of piling all of our goodies on the floor and snapping a photo. I had contemplated taking pictures of my favorite things in their new home, but my To Do list is giving me a headache, so I probably won't do that.

It took Oliver a little bit to get excited to see us, then when we took him home on Friday, he was pretty depressed. On Sunday we went back up to Portland to see our kids/grandkids and Oliver was comfortable, but knew he was once again ours.

My parents dog, Toshi, gets like that when we dog-sit him for extended periods...I think it hurts my mom's feelings when they get home and she's so excited to see him, and he doesn't want to leave. But then he remembers home and all is well again in the universe.
