Field Trip! Chehalem Cultural Center
This week was the second gathering of the newly formed Salem Art Group and on our agenda was a trip to Newberg, OR to visit the Chehalem Cultural Center, and the current show: Material Landscape. Six of us we able to spend the day together.
We discovered a great art gallery in the heart of Newberg: Art Elements. Definitely worth a visit to this little town nestled in wine country, and most definitely a stop at Art Elements.
Great sculpture pieces by Mark Terry.
Current exhibit by Mandy Main. Stunning.
We had lunch at Sub Terra. Beautiful setting, but not impressed with the food (really small portions and overcooked mushy vegetables to name two things).
Mid day break for coffee AND to see Jami's art on the walls of Chapters Bookstore and Coffeehouse.
Of course, what would an outing be without at least one stop at an antique store?!!?
I purchased a couple of pretty cool signs for the studio.
Our plan for June? Portland!

I had such a great time,I'm so happy you got that sign so we won't forget our hairnets.
Haha! Love the hairnet sign! Sad about the Orange Dream Monkeys-I lived my life vicariously thru them! Anyway great pics, as usual. The lacy slip-dress looks (without my glasses) as if it's emerging from sea shells, (not yarns) like a mermaid's dress! Beautiful.
Now I'm REALLY sad I missed it! Like Tory, I think the sign regarding hairnets is great -- good find!
love this blog ..great stuffxxxthanks
