A Promise Collapsed

Five Orange Dream Monkeys came out to play this week: Tory, Bobbie, Theresa, Dawn, and myself.







The page I did last night from start to finish, well maybe not finished as I always seem to continue futzing with my pages.






Tonight was the final meeting of the Orange Dream Monkeys. Monkey Momma is sad . . .


. . . but it has been a great two years.


Bobbie brought all of the monkeys little farewell gifts.

Never Lose a Holy Curiosity

My visual journaling group, the Orange Dream Monkeys, met last week and confronted the theme Heavenly Lime Green Pants. I don't always use the suggested theme, but I just couldn't resist this time around. And although I didn't finish my two-page spread, I sure had fun playing with the color and the theme.





I might not have finished my lime green pants page, but I did manage to finish two pages I had started earlier in the studio: Never Lose a Holy Curiosity.

The Orange Dream Monkeys were were quite the group last night: missing three members, one surprise old member made an appearance, a bad back, arrived late, forgot their journal, had to leave early. But in the end, it was good to be reunited after two months of cancelled meetings. There was much chatter and banter, some art making, and always good snacks.


Only Bobbie stuck with the theme for the evening: Trust Red Clock. The results of her page were beautiful and fun.

Our theme for April is: Heavenly Lime Green Jeans. Well, okay then.

Purple Egypt Androgyny

The Orange Dream Monkeys came out to play on Wednesday night. Not everyone could make it during this busy time of the year, but those of us who did show up had a nice time creating art and visiting.




We had some pretty yummy treats, too.



Our December theme was Purple Egypt Androgyny (yes, it really was - remember, we pull from three jars to get our theme: a color, a noun, a concept). Some of the ladies chose to stick with the theme . . .



. . . and some didn't!



Tory didn't use the suggested theme as a prompt, but worked on a creative altered book she designed. She even completed one of the pages and inserted it into her book.



I didn't stay with the chosen theme either (it's only a suggestion anyway, right?). Instead, I worked in a journal I started in Leighanna Light's class at Art and Soul, The Construction of an Art Book. My little book will be a tribute to my Dad, who is physically healthy, but beginning to fray a bit mentally.
