A Fun Find in Makawao

We stumbled into a great little flower shop while on Maui, actually, Howard ventured down an unassuming little garden path and discovered a gem of a store, Anuhea Flowers. Beautiful flowers, yes, but the art work hanging on the walls was whimsical and fun and we learned the art was done by artist Deybra Fair. The proprietor of the flower shop, Judy Mertens, let me take photos to my art heart's content.

On Aloha Time: Part I

Howard and I jumped on a jet plane last Sunday and have been on aloha time ever since. First leg of our trip was on Maui, which this post is about. Since I'm not feeling very organized or verbose, I'll let the photos speak for themselves. And in some cases, they won't speak at all and you may be left wondering, but that's okay, too.

Black, White, & Grey: The Show

The reception for the Black, White, and Grey show was held last Saturday night at the Keizer Art Association. It was a fun opening as all of the artists were wearing black, white, and grey! We matched the art on the walls. The only disappointment was that the women who hung the show decided to put someone else's art smack dab in front of my piece (and mine wasn't even worthy of hanging!!??!!), so the glass piece they placed in front of mine completely blocked the lower left corner. Howard was not just disappointed, he was maaaaadddddd, but moved the glass piece to get a couple of complete shots of my art. Ah well.

Note: I wore black, white, and grey to the opening, but my earrings had a teeny, tiny red stone in the middle. I'm such a rebel!

Blocked No More

Seven creative women gathered last Saturday for my Bountiful Blocks class. The class was held at the always fabulous Stampin' Cat Studio in Salem. The ladies were so excited to get going that they were selecting goodies and getting started even before the class officially began!




Multiple blocks, multiple sides! So much artistic goodness!

















Our three hours just flew by and one of the repeated comments on the evaluation form was MORE TIME TO PLAY! I'll have to consider extending the length of the class next time around.
