Allure of the Automobile (and More)

For our Father's Day gift, my sister and I decided it would be fun to take our Dad to the Portland Art Museum's current exhibit, The Allure of the Automobile. So today, my sister and brother-in-law drove our Dad up from Salem where they met up with me, Howard, and Howard's father. What an awesome exhibit it was! All of us enjoyed the cars, but the Dad's especially had a good time.

After the rest of my family headed home (and after lunch), Howard and I returned to the museum to see some of the other exhibits. Here are some of my favorite pieces of art:

Industrial Art

I love industrial art and I'm always surprised that when I least expect it, I discover it. Such was the case last weekend when Howard and I popped into the Oregon Maritime Museum on the Portland Waterfront. We've walked by the museum dozens of times and for some reason we decided to visit. What a treat. We were about halfway through the tour when I started noticing some interesting elements and designs. Well, that was it. I whipped out my camera and this is what I snapped:
